Dear Parishioners,
Father's Day
Since tomorrow is a day of rest, I want to wish all fathers a most joyful and blessed Father's Day!
Delightful Conversation
I just had a delightful conversation with an older woman asking about coming back to Mass. She felt anxiety because of being in a high risk category. She was relieved to hear that she could stay at home. She will ask her children and grandchildren to help her watch Mass on our YouTube channel. When the time comes, she and her husband will watch Mass at home and then come to the parking lot to receive Holy Communion outside. Those of you reading this, please help your fellow parishioners to connect with us on-line, especially if they're in a high risk category.
Doors
We've been keeping the doors wide open before Mass. With the increasing heat and humidity, we'll likely close the doors. So, use your elbow to press the button that opens the canopy entrance doors.
Ushers & Greeters and the Parish Hall
We're assigning the first row in the parish hall to ushers and greeters. When it comes time for Holy Communion, they will help direct traffic. Since they won't be at their chairs, social distancing will be greater for those in the parish hall.
Pews
With Tom placing ropes on the pews to mark where you can and cannot sit, it is clearer that households up to four can sit at the end of most pews. Families with little ones could fit more. I'm going to ask Tom to adjust the ropes that will be in the wings in such a way that there will be space for families of six or seven adult sized members. Because of our oddly shaped church, we have to be strategic about where people can sit safely.

Running Around the Parish
This morning, I went for a
little run around the parish at an easy pace. I discovered one road I had never traveled before. It's strange how you can live in a place for ages and discover something new. Perhaps this COVID-19 pandemic can alert us to new possibilities in our relationship with God.
God love you,
Fr. Jim
