Several fake quotes and videos of Pope Leo have been circulating.  The videos were made by using artificial intelligence (AI) to alter real videos.  Here are a list of sources:  official, bad, and good.

     If a video or quote is unsourced or from a strange source, then be careful about its authenticity.  See articles here, here, here, and here.

     The hubbub has been about this AI generated fake video.  If you watch the video, you can tell that the mouth is being artificially altered.  Also, the language is English whereas Pope Leo usually speaks in Italian.

     It's ironic that Pope Leo warned about AI in his message to the cardinals.  He said that he picked his name with Pope Leo XIII in mind and the first Industrial Revolution.  We're going through a new Industrial Revolution with AI and other technological advancements.  Back then and now, we need to recognize and respect the dignity of every human person.

     There are many good and Catholic sources that provide good and accurate information about Pope Leo and what he is saying.

2)  For greater recognition of the dignity of each and every human being.
