Dear Parishioners,
Going to Confession
Aleteia has an article
here about the video above. It can help newcomers learn about how to go to confession and old timers to do even better.
At St. John's, our confessionals are little rooms with a kneeler, chair, and enough room for a wheelchair.
Confession Times
Msgr. Rusconi will help me with confessions during the 3 PM holy hour today, 4/4, and next Friday, 4/11.
I will be available for confession before Sunday Masses this weekend, 4/5-6, and next weekend, 4/12-13.
On Monday, 4/7, I will be in the chapel confessional from 2-4 PM and 6-7 PM. As usual, we have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 2-7 PM.
We will not have Exposition nor confessions on Monday, 4/14, because I will be going to the Chrism Mass at St. Robert's in Freehold. Feel free to join me.
Instead, we will have Exposition on Tuesday of Holy Week, 4/15, from 2-7 PM in the chapel. I will be there the whole five hours for confessions. Msgr. Rusconi will be there from 2-4 PM. Fr. Andrew will be there from 5-7 PM. So, Tuesday, 4/15, is your last, best chance to go to confession before the Easter Triduum.
When another priest is helping me with confessions in the chapel, I will be in the confessional room. The other priest will be behind the screen in the conference room just down the hallway.
Intentions
We begin Passiontide on Sunday, the last two weeks of Lent. Let's speed up those prayers.
1) For peace in Ukraine and around the world.
2) For safe driving in our area.
3) For earthquake relief efforts in Myanmar.
4) For greater respect for all human life.
5) That God may give us the grace of perseverance for the rest of Lent.
God love you,
Fr. Jim
