Dear Parishioners,
Getting the Vaccine
Thanks to the parishioners trying to help me get a vaccine. I signed up with NJ back in January. Yesterday, I signed up with Hackensack Meridian and RWJ Barnabas. I already heard back from Hackensack Meridian. I could have scheduled an appointment, but I didn't want to drive to East Rutherford. And the appointments at Southern Ocean conflicted with my responsibilities here. My Uncle John from PA was able to get the vaccine at the Atlantic City mega-site. So, if I can't schedule an appointment by next week, I'll try one of the mega-sites in Atlantic City or Moorestown.
4th Surge?
Are we entering a fourth surge? Click
here for an article about NJ models. It looks like cases will continue to rise for several more weeks before they peak. Hopefully, new cases will be way down by June.
Livestreaming Difficulties
We've had some trouble with YouTube yesterday and today. As far as I can tell, the problem is not on our end. Maybe YouTube was extra busy. Even so, I'm going to stop using GoToMeeting while livestreaming via YouTube. If someone needs to listen outside in the parking lot, then listen to the outdoor speakers or tune to FM 91.5.
Wings Seating Adjustment
In light of seven groups of four or more signing up for the 10 AM Easter Sunday Mass, I am adjusting the seating in the wings. The first pew is now for four or more. The second and last pews aren't used. The remaining pews are for one person in the middle or couples at each end.
We now have six locations for groups of four or more. The candle room can be set-up for a large group. That gives us seven. If we don't need so many at a particular Mass, we can temporarily change a pew from a large group to singles at each end.
Holy Thursday Mass
We celebrate especially the institution of the Eucharist and the priesthood. Mass will begin tomorrow night at 7 PM.
Holy Communion will only be distributed during Mass to those inside and outside the church. We will skip the washing of feet. I will use the First Eucharistic Prayer with the special Holy Thursday inserts.
We will not transfer the Most Blessed Sacrament from the church to the chapel. Instead, the Blessed Sacrament will be reserved in our main tabernacle so that people may adore the Lord inside our church after the 7 PM Mass until 10 PM.
God love you,
Fr. Jim
